Hey there!  I'm Mary Kittilä and I'm the creator of The Constant Garden collection of premium floral prints.  My background as a fine artist, graphic designer, photographer and avid gardener has led me right to you!  Here is how the seed of an idea grew into a whole garden!...

The Story...

The Constant Garden came into being as the result of a fine art project I developed some years ago.  I was asked to create a number of small gallery-wrapped canvases showing various white flowers on a black background.  The little paintings were then hung in a horizontal line above a tile wainscoting in a beautifully restored Victorian bathroom.  The effect was stunning.  The client loved the work and off I went!

As time went by, that project never really left my mind, and one morning I woke up with the notion that it would be so cool to have a collection of small canvases with every flower you could think of to choose from. The prints looked amazing displayed individually, displayed in a line, or hung in a grid of four, six, nine or…well, you get the idea!  People seemed to love the concept, not only for themselves, but as a great resource for collectible gifts!

continued... I continually add to this unique collection of floral prints because the sheer number of flowers seems nearly infinite.  For that reason, I am fortunate that I can provide these prints made-to-order.  I hope you will find as much joy in The Constant Garden as I do!

WIth love and respect,

Mary Kittilä | founder of The Constant Garden

continued... I was obsessed with the idea of this collection and went about finding the perfect name for it.  The Constant Garden was an apt moniker, not only because the flowers are celebrated in perpetuity on canvas, but I also think of life as a “constant garden”.  Our lives all consist of the ebbs and flows of the coming seasons.  We all have set-backs and yet flourish against all odds, and we must constantly tend to and revitalize ourselves.  Life is made richer by both our instinct and desire, not only to survive, but to thrive!

Bottom line, people LOVE flowers.  Their hypnotic beauty, fragrance, fragility and perfection evoke all sorts of emotions and memories for us.  They have held us in their spell for centuries and we memorialize them in so many ways, from art to literature, to becoming passionate gardeners (as I am).  During the Victorian era flowers were even give their own special meaning.
